It’s time to use that pool test kit!

Checking levels and water quality is essential to the smooth running of the swimming pool. 

Don’t panic if you don´t have a chemistry degree – the kits are simple to use if you follow the directions. Basic kits test your pool water’s pH and total chlorine. More advanced kits test for a wider vareity of things

Free chlorine and total alkalinity are important test factors as well and are covered by the more advanced test kits. Some kits use a reactant, where drops of liquid are added to a water sample, others use a tablet - some kits even just use a strip of paper coated in the reactant. There are also electronic test devices, but these are normally beyond the budget of the domestic swimming pool owner.
